I used to really want to be a pediatrician. I got into a huge fight with my mom, and she shot me with “What parent will want a gay doctor for their children?”
I don’t really want to be a pediatrician any more.

Any parent with half a brain won’t care whether or not a pediatrician is gay. P.S. Your mom’s a bitch.
There are a ton of successful gay pediatricians.
I know a gay male gynecologist.
Don’t let your mom get in the way, fuck her, and send her a copy of your acceptance letter to pediatrics residency with a lump of coal.
I’m a gay doctor! There are many of us out there!
We’re everywhere.

I know several gay pediatricians. They’re fantastic at what they do. Your mom sucks. You should’ve said “what gay son would want a bigoted bitch for a mother.”
I’ve been reading a lot and kind of soul searching. The most important thing I’ve learned is about dreams… and how people decide to give them up. So many people are miserable in their jobs; they dreamt of being pediatricians or firemen or dancers or professional musicians. They let other people ruin that dream for them and tell them why they’d make no money or never make it in the business. They get one life and they let some jerk who wants to hurt them get them down and ruin it. You’ll make a wonderful pediatrician. And one day, when I have kids, I’ll be on the lookout for a gay pediatrician to take them to.
I agree with the above poster, except I don’t know why you would look specifically for a gay pediatrician- we’ve gotta stop the obsession with identity politics and labels. Go to the person with the most experience and best qualifications, whether that person is gay, straight, bi, white, black, or whatever. Don’t just go to someone because they’re gay.
What child would want a wicked cunt for a mother?
