Hi! I’m Jordan, but most of my family and friends call me Jordi.
I’m lucky to call the sunny San Diego County my home for the past 8 years since moving here to earn my Communication degree at Cal State San Marcos. I loved my time there as I competed on the Women’s Cross Country and Track teams under the famous Olympic champion, Coach Steve Scott.
Since graduating in 2016, I moved in a tiny new apartment with my boyfriend Jake and welcomed our sweet kitten, Mazy, into our home soon after.
While sports have been a part of my life since before I can remember, I’ve also always considered myself to be a creative person. As a kid, I was always reading, filling my journal up for pages on end and discovered that I had a talent in music when I started playing piano at 10 years old.
Other things I love: the beach, travelling, spending too much money at Francesca’s, the color pink, and honestly any other thing that’s pretty since I’m probably one of the girliest people you’ll ever meet!
About The Wishing Well
It took a little a lot of courage to start this blog as it can be so scary to put yourself out there in the online world, but I am so excited to start sharing this new journey with all of you!
So, what is The Wishing Well? When I first started thinking about the direction of my blog, I knew that I wanted it to be about health and wellness because I’ve always been an active person, love yummy (and healthy) food, and love to learn about the why behind all of it.
I’ll be the first to admit that I am no expert, but I love learning all about how the body works and mind works and why certain health/lifestyle choices are better than others is truly fascinating to me. Having been an athlete for as long as I can remember, living a healthy lifestyle was always something I had to consider – but if I’m being honest, I didn’t always make the best choices for my health and still struggle sometimes!
However, this all changed in 2018 when I started experiencing one issue after another and was at the doctor’s office seemingly every month, if not every two weeks! While that year was a big learning experience for me and I’ve thankfully found permanent and ongoing solutions for the issues I was having, I learned so much about the importance of our every day choices.
If we want to live our best lives and be healthy and happy, we need to put in the work every day – not just at our annual check up!
I will be using this blog to document my wellness journey not only to keep myself accountable, but also to share my stories and hopefully offer some insight and perspective on what works for me and could work for you as well. We’re all just trying our best to use the resources we have available to us, and I genuinely believe that the best resource we have is each other!
So, whatever your wish is – whether you wish for a healthier lifestyle, a better career, or a more positive mindset, my hope is that my blog inspires you – even in the smallest way – to live your best life and assure you that I will always be in your corner wishing you well!
